how can somebody remove acrylic paint from a card without damaging it.

lets just say i got a fairly expensive card that was poorly altered for really cheap and i would like to restore it.

Carefully doing it with a toothpick has always done it for me, but usually it's only to clean up the boarder to make my alter cleaner. Although, I've never try to completely restore one.

Yeah, that's what I am afraid of.

Pretty much, I bought a crappy alter (by crappy, I mean... Not tournament legal) Tarmogoyf for about seventy bucks. If I can remove the paint, I will have a playable copy to finish my play set.

I think there was a similar reddit threat a few weeks back where this guy picked up this terribly elmo altered Kiki Jiki if you want to try searching that up or even posting about it there.

Rubbing alcohol will do the trick. Dip a cotton swab in a bottle, wipe off the excess, then slowly and gently dab the card while wiping away the paint. Wipe away paint and alcohol from the card using another cotton swab or facial tissue. Don't apply too much rubbing alcohol or pressure to the card or you could risk removing some of the card's ink.

I'd suggest practicing on a basic land first (just cover one with black acrylic paint, then use the above to clean it off).
