Whatever happened to affordable glass bead tokens?

Half a decade ago, you used to be able to get the little flat glass beads, about 9 mm, from Chessex or a bunch of other vendors, about 40 of them, with a velour bag for right about $5, in a variety of colors.
Now I can hardly find them at all! Even the Dragon Shield gaming counters are the bigger 12 mm ones you'd find in an aquarium or a vase. The few places I CAN find them seem to be selling at almost out of stock, twice the price, and for half the quantity.
Am I missing something or did every company in the world just stop making them?
you can use glass bath beads. you can get a bag of them at just about any dollar store

You can probably find some in the aquarium section of a pet store.

I get mine at Walmart for a few bucks in a decently big bag. Go to the crafts department near the fake flowers. Or any craft store

Are the Walmart crafts ones the smaller ones, though? Pennies, bath beads or the 12-15 mm ones will do in a pinch, but those old Chessex things were pretty!

You can use pennies nickles and dimes.
You could get all weird, and use This, and this too.
Just have the coin value represent the number of counters.
