Ultra Pro Satin Tower

So, has anybody bought these before? I'm buying my first commander deck that's actually valuable enough to sleeve ((Probably double sleeving)) and the current boxes I have won't be big enough to hold them. How's the quality on these? I like how they look but that's a small part of it all.

They're wonderful. I've had mine for a year and had no problems, does everything it says it does really well. The only complaint is that it's a bit too roomy to snugly fit a deck, which is easily solved by throwing in some tokens or bulk commons. Never opens when you don't want it to.

A bit bulky though, at times I don't use it because of that, when I'm trying to pack a backpack for staying a few nights at a friend's, I tend to put multiple decks in a fat pack box instead of that. Other than its slight bulk, which is reasonable for what it does, it's a great deck box.

Also, every deck is worth sleeving. For double sleeving commander I recommend kmc perfect fit and dragon shield. Sometimes it's difficult to get it all together, but you'll never buu another sleeve for that deck.

TolarianCommunityCollege did a review on them, you can find the video on YouTube. I actually own one, and I love it. Easily enough space for a double sleeved Commander deck and a small compartment underneath for dice. It's very convenient, small enough to not be burdensome. It also just feels nice. Does smudge easily though, handle with clean hands. Well worth the purchase.

I love mine. I feel like its perfect unless you are willing to go out of your way to buy a custom made box.

Yeah, I saw the TCC review on it, It's honestly what put it on my radar. But I like getting other people thoughts on it as well.

Anything specific you're concerned about for the deck box? It definitely offers protection. Fits any deck (Except maybe some battle of wits shenanigans got casual). And holds 16 standard size 6 sided dice. I have 13 six sided and the 20 in mine right now, but that can be a tight fit

I just wanted to know about it's general performance. I'll be using it to hold my Damia edh deck that I'm working on finishing, so it won't be anything insanely oversized. And dice I normally keep in my laptop bag anyways.

I've only had mine for a few weeks, but it's literally perfect. Easily fits a double sleeved Commander deck with some leftover room, never busts open accidentally. Unlike some other deck boxes where you have to store the deck sideways to fit the whole thing in, the Satin Tower lets you store the deck vertically, so there's no trouble at all getting the deck out of it.

The only reason I haven't bought one of these boxes myself is because it wouldn't conveniently fit in the bag I use to transport my decks in. Amusingly enough, despite them being subpar deck boxes, my Ultra Pro faux leather boxes fit perfectly in the bag I currently use (along with normal cardboard card boxes). I just take extra care to avoid the hazards of the weak magnetic closing mechanism.

If I carried my cards in something more spacious like a backpack, however, I would absolutely get myself an Ultra Pro Satin Tower.

The Satin tower works really well. Fits a deck comfortably, is very sturdy, doesn't open unless you open it, and the compartment underneath is convenient. As others have said, the only downside is that it is a little bit bulky. It also doesn't have a compartment for oversized cards, not sure if that matters to you. But the command tower box is another option. It has a few more compartments, including for oversized commander cards, but it is even more bulky. Both are good, personally I prefer the satin tower because its smaller.

If you double sleeve your deck it fits perfectly. I single sleeve and keep tokens I need as well. Great quality. Best I've seen for commander, for the price.

I have two and they're very nice. The only caveat I'd add to the above comments is this: they do get dirty fairly easily. I see several folks at my LGS who've got big dirt stains on their Satin Towers. I think this is easily avoided by regular washing of hands, and general awareness about keeping your possessions clean. Most players aren't as fastidious as I am when it comes to the condition of their cards and accessories, but I thought this would be worth mentioning all the same.

They're actually amazing. What I love most about them is that if you drop them from a great height they won't open and spill your cards out everywhere - they're close very tightly and securely. You really wont have to worry about any damage to your deck.

JakeHarlow - enjoying use of the word fastidious.

Alright, I'm glad. To be honest, most of my personal experiences with Ultra Pro when it came to deck boxes have been lack luster at best, but I was really wanting this to be good and it seems like it is.

They're pretty awesome. I have been using mana-symbol flip boxes for a while since I got a bundle on sale. However, I decided to test out the satin towers (because a double-sleeved deck did not fit in a mana-symbol flip box). Now I only have one problem with the towers: I'd like to get more.

But whatever you do, do NOT get the ultra pro command tower box... It's just plain bad.

I use them for my 5 Double Sleeved EDH decks. I don't use the dice section, so I just remove them, thus reducing some bulk.

I left one of my tower's sitting on my truck, backed up, heard something hit the ground, then the truck jumped. Turned out I ran it over, it has one scratch on it. Things are fantastic, 10/10 would recommend.

Living up to the name not lucky

I mean, none of the cards are damaged, and the deckbox is still in near perfect condition. I'd say that's pretty damn lucky. Mostly just stupid.

Ran over the deckbox with a fucking truck and it's still in great condition. Ultra Pro, they finally did something right.

Yeah, it's pretty good for the reasons already given. I want to get a couple more, and for that price I probably will.
