I'm making a Red deck wins deck and everyone one is telling me to have 3 to 4 Eidolon of the Great Revel. It seems like it hurts me more.

If it's turn 3 and you are on 11 life and your opponent is at 6 and you get 5 triggers from Eidolon and your opponent only 3, is it better for you or for him?

i mean essentially if the opponent has 2 less life than you then eidolon is going to kill them before it kills you if they match your tempo. presumably they will be trying to play cards to stop you. if the opponent doesnt play cards then you win by default so theyre damned if they do and damned if they dont.

In RDW, you aim to race the opponent and kill them as fast as possible, without worrying about your life total.
In most modern decks, they have very low mana curves anyway, so they will most likely hurt themselves a lot trying to remove it, and that will benefit you much more because their life total will be lower than yours (if you play RDW properly lol) so they will be worse off than you.
Along with what the others said about playing it last, you will only trigger it once or twice at most per turn, and your opponent will likely be losing more than that.

I disagree with the sentiment that you should play it last, except in specific scenarios.
You're the red deck. If you land a T2 Eidolon, it immediately puts your opponent on the "answer it or die" plan. They take a turn off to kill it, take 2 damage in the process, and you don't take any damage at all.
In a situation where they don't kill it, you're still playing more aggressive spells than them. All of your burn spells deal 3 damage at a time, so they're still taking more damage than you.
Taking 2 damage to deal 3 to your opponent is worth it almost every time, expecially considering that they have to take even more damage for each spell they play until they kill the Eidolon.
(Also it gets to attack for 2 at a time, which isn't irrelevant)

The Rules Q&A area of the site is intended to be for questions about game rules, tournament rules, and card interactions. This kind of question is best suited for one of the Deck Help or format-specific subforums.
When playing Eidolon of the Great Revel in RDW, it will be one of the last cards you play from your hand and your opponent is likely to be at a much lower life total than you at the time you play it. The Eidolon has the chance to deal your opponent a lot of damage if they don't deal with it right away, and any spell they cast to deal with it will also probably trigger it anyway.
