Gabumon, Digital Wolf Hero

Custom Cards forum

A couple of people in my play group have been coming up with ideas for custom generals. I started to think about what characters would make a interesting card. I decided on Digimon because I thought it would be a neat idea at a new leveling card. I picked Gabumon because out of all the main Digimon, his forms were my favorite.

After trying to use a traditional leveling format, they suggest using Figure of Destiny and it looked a lot better.

He was originally blue/white, but one member suggested adding green because of the fact he was a wolf. I justify it like this:

White: He is a hero, represents friendship, loved humans and has a humanoid form. So that form gets double strike.

Blue: It is mentioned how he is a good swimmer, his main attack is ice based. Stuff like that.

Green: Wolf creatures are typically green. His last form can fly and shoot missiles. I think if you would try and block missiles, some damage might still go through, so I gave him trample.

He is about equal in power to some of the other custom commanders. I just wanted to see what others thought and if anyone has any suggestions. Thanks a bunch!

So you pay 18 for a 6/6 flying indestructible double striker, trampler? Seems a bit meh honestly. For 15 you can get a 15/15 prot spells annialator, take an extra turn dude.

Good point. I will ask my group and see if we can make him stronger. Do you like the idea of the card?

So it's Figure of Destiny basically?

I would probably start it at 3/3, next up is 5/3, then 6/4, and then 7/5. Consistent RWU cost might be a fine idea, so you'd pay 12 for a 7/5 indest trample flying, and perhaps double strike?

Yeah, I was discussing it with a couple other people and decided it was a bit weak. Thanks for the idea.
