Brion Stoutarm Quesiton

I have an EDH deck Fling It All Around using Brion Stoutarm as my commander, and I was wondering if any effects creatures may have carry over when I sacrifice them for the ability. For instance, when I sacrifice a creature I have with deathtouch to target one of my opponent's creatures does it go through as deathtouch damage? I was under the impression that things like deathtouch, double strike, and lifelink would not go through because it is not actual combat damage. I just want to make sure I clarify this so I use my commander correctly. Thanks I advance.

So that does also mean, though, that if Brion Stoutarm is the one with lifelink or some other ability that modifies damage being dealt, it will apply.

Lifelink, infect and poison do work since they are not limited to combat damage. First and double strike don't apply because they only happen in combat.

That is interesting to learn that the Lifelink and infect effects would still work. Knowing this will definitely help with trying to get this deck to work effectively. Thanks for all the feedback.

Just for the record, infect works, but poisonous doesn't.

@Schuesseled Giving him Deathtouch wouldn't do much of anything, since his fling only hits players.

Brion Stoutarm is the one dealing the damage ''Brion Stoutarm deals damage equal to the sacrified creature's power to target player'' anyway he only deals damage to players so death touch would mean nothing
