This is the page for the Lutrin tribe for the T/O Community Set Project. Full description will be made momentarily.

The Lutrin are an Otter Tribe people. Their colours are and .

Their main home is in a cave in a cliff behind a massive waterfall. They harness the power of the waterfall by building waterwheels from wood using the forest around them. They have essentially turned the entire cliff into a wooden house, as the Lutrin have built their structures throughout the entire cliff to be able to traverse it, up and down, with ease.

Mechanics Show

Explore is the first mechanic for the Lutrin, the one based more on peace. The Lutrin seem inquisitive and curious in nature, and enjoy exploring the lands where the rivers flow.

• Lutrin Explorer —
• Creature — Otter
• Whenever Otter Explorer becomes tapped, Explore 4. (Look at the top 4 cards of your library, if one of them shares a cardtype with a card in your hand, you may reveal both cards and put the explored card into your hand. If you do, shuffle your library.)

The fortification mechanic from Darsteel Garrison will be used in the second, warfare set, as the Lutrin are the kind of people that would use the natural resources around them to build advanced technologies to further their society. The Lutrin live together as a society, as they are small and require group mentality to take on the other Tribes.

• The Great Wheel —
• Legendary Artifact — Fortification
• Fortified Land is an island in addition to its other types.
• Whenever fortified land becomes tapped, Otter creatures you control gain +2/+2 and have islandwalk until end of turm.
• Fortify - Tap an untapped Otter you control (Tap an untapped Otter you control: Attach to target land you control. Fortify only as a sorcery. This card enters the battlefield unattached and stays on the battlefield if the land leaves.)

Beyond the fortification, both sets will have a minor representation of equipments. Equipments and fortifications are quite similar, so they can be used in tangent.

• Whenever Lutrin Surveyor deals combat damage to your opponent, you may Explore X, where is the amount of damage dealt to your opponent by Lutrin Surveyor this turn. (Look at the top X cards of your library, if one of them shares a cardtype with a card in your hand, you may reveal both cards and put the explored card into your hand. If you do, shuffle your library.)

Changes I Thought Were Needed Show

I'm doing this "in secret" because I don't know if I'm actually going to be available for more discussion or not. I don't want to get people into this only to have the person who works on these displays to not be here.

I've also been doing a lot of cube and custom set analysis, so I have a much stronger grasp on card power level. Cards overall have been overpowered, most likely because of me, so I've been decreasing much of what I thought was too strong.

I'm removing the kicker that exiled lands for its additional cost. I felt that, in contender with fortification, the flavour doesn't fit well with the tribe, that and it is really hard to play other cards around kicker.
