I am fairly new to Magic, so please bear with me if I ask scrubbish questions. My girlfriend (Halphinian) introduced me to the game a couple of months ago (she first mentioned it to me around August of 2015), but since she and I are very busy, we have kind of stalled on the learning for a while. That is, until now. Now that we have slightly less-intensive college classes and longer breaks for work, we have started up the game yet again.
