Sword of Once and Future

Artifact — Equipment

Equipped creature gets +2/+2 and has protection from blue and from black. ((Remember the acronym debt.) This can't be damaged, enchanted, equipped, blocked or targeted by anything blue or black. Anything blue or black attached to this immediately falls off.)

Whenever equipped creature deals combat damage to a player, surveil 2. Then you may cast an instant or sorcery spell with mana value 2 or less from your graveyard without paying its mana cost. If that spell would be put into your graveyard, exile it instead. (To Surveil 2, look at the top two cards of your library. You may put any number of then into your graveyard and the rest ontop in any order.)

Equip (: Attach this to target creature you control. Equip only as a sorcery. This enters the battlefield unattached and stays on the battlefield if the creature this card is attached to leaves the battlefield.)

Very tight curve and great name.

How about the Sword of Once and Future? Might be alright. Also, maybe Guttersnipe or Thermo-Alchemist|Electrostatic Field to ping the opponent while you spellsling?

Interesting Idea you have going here, but I think the deck isn't really focused around Kellan seeing a lack of equipment/auras that can be used to enhance your creatures. Looks like your deck is caught bettween aggro and value and not focusing enough on one or the other.

For aggro you may want to trim:

Baird, Argivian Recruiter - 4 copies too many as it is legendary and the tokens it makes are not really feeding into other strats. If you want to place focus on Boaird, would suggests different deck style.

Spellbook Vendor as the card is kind of a slow value card for a deck that looks like it is trying to be fast aggro

Rabbit Battery while decent, the pump bonus is small, you are lacking threats to really apply this to outside of Kellan

Skrelv, Defector Mite 2 copies at most since the card is bad for you to draw in multiples unless vs control

Cards to add / consider:

Cacophony Scamp - Trades up easily especially with pump and can be a way to push lethal through blockers with death trigger

Monastery Swiftspear - Works well with alot of your current spells and gives you a great 1 drop. You could consider Goblin Tomb Raider if you prefer a static bonus not requiring prowess, but you would need a more artifact focus (see next couple suggestions)

Sword of Once and Future - if you have a copy this can be a great 1 of for deck (or sideboard) as it gives relvant protections that can be added straight to hand (Birthright Boon) and can allow you to setup top of deck and small chance to cast back spells from grave. This would also make Lightning Helix a possible reconsidered spell.

Mirran Banesplitter - Decent pump bonus for 1 maan at flash making a decent combat trick that stays on board even if you lose creature and can be attached again later at a somewhat reasonable cost. Pairs great with Scamp as surprise pump.

Dire Flail  Flip - This equipment would be to just have a cheap +2/0 bonus you can apply to creatures, the craft side not likely relvant. Would likely stick with Banesplitter unless you want cheaper equip cost.

Barbed Batterfist - Its like playing a 2 mana 3/1 that leaves an artifact behind once the tokens gone relevant for cards like Rebel Salvo. Also serves a creature you can search for with Kellen adventure.

Rebel Salvo - If you like the equip idea, then Salvo could be a cheaper alternative to Witchstalker Frenzy.

While I have tinkered with a deck like this in the past, problem is usually it just runs slower then red pump or the boros convoke deck. Hope these suggestions help.

Cut Sword of Once and Future. Surveil is for reanimator strategies and you only have 2 spells that it can target. Add Staff of Compleation

Sceptre of Eternal Glory is a better Thran Dynamo.

Sanctum of Eternity reuse and abuse your commanders ETB.

Thoughts on Sword of Wealth and Power?

“Sword of Wealth and Power Artifact Equipment Equipped creature gets +2/+2 and has protection from instants and from sorceries. Whenever equipped creature deals combat damage to a player, create a Treasure token. When you next cast an instant or sorcery spell this turn, copy that spell. You may choose new targets for the copy. Equip 2“

Probably negative considering Sword of Once and Future had similar relevance to instants and sorceries, huh?

Regardless of color, it does provide survivability against targeted removal, and certain board wipes that involve damage. It also provides some mana production, which white can always use. Double strike can mean double treasure?

It does not provide unblockability to our Commander, which is crushing to us since we care about chump blockers. It looks like we have only 10-11 instants/sorceries that would make sense in copying with this sword.

I removed Armory of Iroas, Glaive of the Guildpact and Trepanation Blade. Armory was too much of a hassle to point out that yes, there are in fact swords in the artwork. Also, the counters are nice but take a really long time to build up. Creature removal means the whole sha-bang resets, too. Glaive of the Guildpact is a sword in art, but I don't want people to argue that it's a "glaive" because of the name. Also, it honestly isn't that good for this deck. As for Tre Blade, it's true that this is not "technically" a sword.

I added Sword of Once and Future and Sword of Forge and Frontier to finish the cycle off, as well as the super awesome Drach'Nyen.

I do technically need to find a replacement for Sword of Dungeons & Dragons, just in case the table I sit down with isn't cool with me using that card since it's silver bordered.

There is Blasphemous Act from Warhammer: 40k I could use :)

Any thoughts on Sword of Once and Future? Scry feels like card draw, and we have about three instants and about three sorceries we can target with it (that are not counterspells or X spells) for that card advantage. I am thinking of replacing Strength-Testing Hammer with it since we no longer have to hope for a high roll or us having the highest power for the card advantage, and this has better protection/evasion for our commander, although not tutorable by Urza's Saga like the hammer is.
