One flesh, One end, Bitch.

I love The Locked Tomb book series and wanted to make a commander deck inspired by Gideon and Harrow.

Skeleton tribal is a bit rough and there aren't any perfect fits, but starting from Brynx's old Juri's Bone to Pick deck felt like the closest I could get to what I wanted!

Turns out there aren't a Pair of commanders who are a female black skeleton-based necromancer and a female red knight / brawler, but maybe someday! In the meantime, Juri can serve as some sort of lyctoral substitute.

The Lyctoral Process

Create tons of reassembling ash skeletons, repeatedly sacrifice them to turn Juri into a megatheorem, and then fling yourself on your sword and make it everyone else's problem.

The role of Teacher in this process is played by Harmonic Prodigy, who is originally here to combo neatly with Juri, Master of the Revue but will also combo with Tormod, the Desecrator, Clattering Augur, Grim Haruspex, Pawn of Ulamog, Gut, True Soul Zealot, Lagomos, Hand of Hatred, and even Jadar, Ghoulcaller of Nephalia if we stack our triggers right.

The role of Villain is played by Lagomos, Hand of Hatred, who needs the thanergy of 5 sacrifices to summon The Balrog, Durin's Bane just when your opponents think they can safely sleep.

Ninth House Budget

I enjoy making budget decks and the Ninth House isn't particularly liquid right now with their funding. The goal was to keep it under $50, and the only card that doesn't really belong is Rakdos, because I already had two sitting around and could add him to the deck for free.
