i started playing magic in 1994 just as revised was released. i had no idea what i was getting into (i was 12 at the time) so i didn't know that i should have been buying all the Unlimited that i could...

i also had no money, so i bought tons of Fallen Empires even though it was awful. i stopped playing as soon as Tempest came out because i saw a poster that showed there were 4 sets coming out just that year, and my pocketbook couldn't keep up.

i started playing again -- briefly -- when Eventide came out, but again i couldn't justify the expense.

i started again with Zendikar because... well... everyone is, and because I've been introduced to EDH, which is just amazing. i am loving Landfall, but i still can't justify the expense. so what am i doing? i'm buying all the commons and uncommons from every set from here on out on ebay. for a set of Zendikar and M10 commons and uncommons, total cost after shipping was around $55... plus i have a few rares from drafts and the like.

so i'm playing pauper, EDH with old old old cards, and nothing in between. and loving it. what an awesome game.
