The Constrictor will give you another energy for every energy trigger you pull off, which adds up quickly.
The Cub, and your Basker both benefit from this as well, since +1/+1 counters are added individually to both of these cards, every time you spend energy to 'buy' a +1/+1, you get another, so you're getting +2/+2 for every energy expense.

Hey! Saw that you added my deck, The Pugilist, and looked at some of the others you've saved. Since you seem to like land destruction, maybe check out my deck Kingfisher's Curse.

I'll be replacing 3x Lifecraft Awakening with 4x Bristling Hydra as soon as I can get physical copies of the cards. Awakening really doesn't do anything for me, and I can't see myself using it, now I've actually played through this deck.

Hoschie I've literally never seen that deck, either at FNM or just casual play at my LGS. My area does have a problem with infinite decks though, or just shenanigans. But thank you for your suggestion! I actually kind of sort of forgot you commented, sorry it took so long!

Thanks for the votes! And yeah, infinite combos just feel...way too cheap. If you're gonna win, at least work for it a little.
@Sgt.Pickles That cheap in MTGO? Hmm. I looked into it but I don't feel like paying ten bucks for something that Cockatrice does for free. Still neat though!

Dead_Anarchy: In response to that (lol)
Both Beacon of Immortality and Exquisite Blood are way too expensive for me to include in this deck. This is...well not as budget as I usually try to make my decks, but still pretty budget. Truth be told, so is Wound Reflection. $45 is really pushing it as it is. I was pretty hesitant about adding in the Rhox Faithmender because of it's price, and Sanguine Bond was pushing the limit of what I'm willing to spend per card.
If (or when) I remake this deck for online play, it'll likely contain either the Beacon, or Exquisite, or both, though honestly I dislike the idea of an 'infinite' combo. I'd honestly rather the Beacon than Exquisite, for that reason.
In short, I'm aware of the combos you mentioned, I just can't justify the price.

Sgt.Pickles I'm not really gonna run many creatures in this deck. The entire point is to burn our opponent by adding to our health with Sanguine Bond in play, or healing our opponent and taking health away instead with Tainted Remedy. Rhox Faithmender is in the deck to double our life gained, and thus do more damage through Sanguine Bond, and Perimeter Captain is in the deck to defend us in the early game while we set up, and gain us health at the same time.
I may consider the Sovereign, though. It should be pretty easy to accomplish with this. I'll have to think on it.

Hoschie, I only started playing about 2 months ago, so while your suggestion is appreciated and will be considered, the fuck is a suicide-zoo?

You might as well add in a couple of Doubling Seasons lol.

I really hope that Winding Constrictor isn't banned, it's a cornerstone of standard counter decks, and more importantly, the standard deck I play the most.
Damn, now I'm gonna have to make a counter/energy deck or something to stay in the game.

I like having Healing Leaves and Bump in the Night for that bit of cheap lifegain, in case everything doesn't go according to plan, but you're welcome to make the deck yourself with those replacements.
If you do, let me know how it works out!

Sweet Crippled Christ on a Rubber Crutch. This is the most expensive deck I've seen on here. I hope you either only play it online, or had these cards before they went sky-high expensive.

Forgot to mention in the previous comment, but your Shade's Form isn't legal in modern.

The other comments are correct.
I've found the best way to build a new deck from scratch is to decide what theme/card/effect/combo you want to build it around. For instance, if you're building a madness deck, you don't just want creatures with madness, but cards that make you discard, so you can discard something with madness, then pay it's madness cost. Synergy is important in Magic, making the cards you play work together.
You also want to consider how fast your deck is going to move, as stated above. Generally, with , you want to move quickly. Use low-cost cards with lifelink, or drain effects, where an opponent loses life and you gain it. Add in a couple heavy hitters, but don't make that your main strategy.
My first deck was made for me, at my LGS. It was a vampire madness deck. Great for beginners. Of course, I've seen a vampire madness deck that kicked the ass of my slower counters deck, so experience does play a part.
