That's actually an incredible suggestion! I'm slamming that enchantment into my deck as soon as I can get my hands on a copy. I have no idea how I missed that one.

After several games with this deck I've decided that I don't love how one-note it is. Almost every game I'm casting Hapatra on turn 2 and hoping she doesn't die before I can build an army of tokens. Either she dies and I have to start over with an increasingly hefty commander tax, or every thing goes according to plan and I aggro out the table on turn 5-7. The deck has pretty much zero ways to make a board presence without Hapatra sticking. Too linear for my tastes.

SO, I'm planning to significantly alter my list to make it more interactive and function better without Hapatra on the field. One card inspired me in a certain direction: Archfiend of Ifnir. The -1/-1 counter synergy is obvious, and Golgari has a TON of ways to discard cards for profit or break the symmetry of universal discard. So more discard and more recursion. I also need a few extra standalone token producers. Here are the cards I'm thinking of adding:

Token Makers:Bitterblossom, Hornet Queen, Creakwood Liege, (maybe) Hooded Hydra.

The Ifnir Package: Archfiend of Ifnir, Survival of the Fittest, Fauna Shaman, Liliana of the Veil, Edge of Autumn, some cycling lands, (maybe) Krosan Tusker

With the changes I hope the deck can play the long game a bit more effectively and be able to transition from beating face to controlling the board and opponents resources. Suggestions welcome!

If you are looking for more non board wipe protection for your walkers you could try Crawlspace and Silent Arbiter. I've used them both in PW heavy decks to great success. I'd also suggest Anguished Unmaking over Mortify. It's the same cost, also an instant, and can take out anything that's not a land. Your deck seems fun!

Also, Growing Rites of Itlimoc could be an great draw/ramp option.

Nice list! Two thoughts:

  1. In looking at your mana, your colors are evenly distributed but the mana costs in your deck are very heavily weighted towards green. It might be worth reflecting that more in your manabase. I'd also suggest getting rid of Cabal Coffers. Coffers + Urborg isn't what it used to be before Primeval Titan got banned and unless you have Urborg on the field it's only going to ever net you 1 mana, IF you have all 3 of your swamps. Add a basic forest instead, IMHO.

  2. I feel like you could benefit from another cheap draw effect. Shamanic Revelation could be a good fit but it is contingent on having bodies and you already run Regal Force. Necropotence is amazing of course.

Hey BosmaTheNL, my list is up: http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/unesh-lord-of-the-machines/

Thanks for all the inspiration. I'm in the process of writing out a mini primer and I'll link to your list when I post it.

Both of those cards are on my shortlist. I'm leaning more towards the Bow than the Staff as it's easier to get online for the first kill and so far the deck has played very aggressively. I may cut Skinrender or the Command for it. I do run Ulvenwald Tracker which kind of provide that effect already and can be fetched at EoT with Chord of Calling but some redundancy there would definitely be good.
