Here's mine from friday



I won the two because I either stuck a hapatra and decimator beetle and grinded until I hit harvest for glorybringer. I had a very weak pool with no active removal so I had to sandbag a lot of my decent plays.

I got wreck by someone with double Drake Haven and 2 Renewed Faith. Couldn't beat that.

Argeaux What I'm saying is that at this stage of standard, we should be given a universal clean answer to PWs in general that is efficient enough for the power of standard right now.

True, it doesn't change the activation of it but being able to kill their PWs on their turn and untapping on yours creates more balance then having to decide to kill their PW on your turn or playing a threat to the board or playing card-draw spell, sweeping the board etc etc. There is too much symmetrical decision making that if you're behind by inch, and a PW sticking for more than one turn is usually scoop phase, which it shouldn't.

The problem with To the Slaughter is that it's just too situational for a broad problem. When it works, it's wonderful. Pure two-for-one that is back-breaking or stabilizing but relies on a perfect state on the board.

Sorry about the complaining, it's just..... we have 20 PW's in standard now and I feel it takes away from very excellent cards in this set once you start slicing down the middle what do play at your four-drop slot, five drop slot etc etc.... and makes deck building not even a challenge in some situations.

Argeaux Taking three life and being mulit-colored for Anguished Unmaking is not a good answer considering you will have to take somewhere between 3-9 damage just to kill a usual amount(3) in their deck, potentially more. To the Slaughter is too conditional of having delirium turned on and being a edict for trying to cash in on the two-for-one in most situations.

Burn helps but if you are taking two Fiery Tempers just to kill a Gideon, Ally of Zendikar or Nissa, Vital Force is just one of the most inefficient plays especially if they just play another one or have a better threat.

We've seen the difference between Path and Fall for awhile now and it's paramount to winning and losing. Sorcery Speed just doesn't cut it.

This is a decent set, not to crazy really. Some cards are being pushed to certain formats in mind(some modern, pauper, a speckle of legacy) and looks to be a really fun limited experience. I see a grindfest like Khans/Fate kind of speed. I just wish they made some kind of planeswalker removal at instant speed. I don't need to explain the difference between Hero's Downfall and Ruinous Path in term of context.

We NEED a Hero's Downfall at this stage of rotation, what does WOTC not understand about this?

20 Hard-to-interact-with, usually C.A. Engines, Sweepers or can build incremental board presence that if unchecked can win the game flat out(excepting with Trials he just doesn't make you lose.) What's sad is that there is no reason to play any of the nice gods because you have a planeswalker who for the most part can do their job better at that slot anyway with minimal risk and max reward.

Bovine073 True, that would suck; but that's what Brainstorm before your OPP E.O.T or before drawstep is for. But that's something that the reward outweights the risk with her crazy C.A. and flexibility to go early or late game.

I'm testing two right now and it's been really ok. The only flaw it has is that I have to completely change the way I play when I have a nissa in hand. I think maybe being obviously more creature-centric would be helpful.(adding Scavenging Ooze)

Already gonna running simulations for New Simic Nissa in Legacy Shardless Bug and she is something spicy.

T1>Play Land(Thoughtseize/Inquisition of Kozilek,Brainstorm) etc.

T2>Baleful Strix,Tarmogoyf.

T3> Play Simic Nissa for 3 CMC,+2 her, hopefully either Shardless Agent and something of the such hymn, strix, ancestral, etc.

T4>If needed, set up with brainstorm before drawstep, do cool stuff, draw what you want then, zero nissa, hit shardless, cascade to disgusting-ness.

Man if Vizier of the Menagerie was 3 CMC instead of 4, it would completely broken, more so than what it is right now. I mean essentially it's giving you a extra card in your hand to play if it's a creature.

Spell Queller'd their spell from the top of your deck? Disgusting. Fixing for Bant Colours for it problem? Not anymore. Elder Deep-Fiend(Paying basically the emerge cost) or Archangel Avacyn  Flip from the top of your deck. Plus it's not legendary so you can jam 3 or 4 in a deck. This and putting down As Foretold on T3 to T4 is quite scary as you can psuedo Omniscience your deck is left unchecked.

For the EDH kiddos- Vizier Selvala, Heart of the Wilds= A Good Time.
