Not sure where your going with this one but I have a few suggestions. Too much mana. There's effectively 32 mana sources. Only 4x being a mana dork. Which isn't bad itself but the mana curve is very low with the exception of 4x Lightning Runner. He's really cool but 4x is too much, imo. 2 or maybe 3 is good. If you can buy'em a set of Aether Hub is almost always 4x of.

If your going quick value creatures Blossoming Defense over a couple lands sounds like a start. Protecting those weenies is important here. Or there's that pump-energy spell in Revolt. Forgot the name. SB should also address control a lot. Which this is very weak to as it stands.

Not sure if Bristling Hydra is too expensive. He can be vital in the new meta of 3 damage sweepers. He also works well on the curve if your going taller. And, of course, Constrictor makes him at least 6/5.

Bomat Courier is usually ran in graveyard, artifact, or pure aggro builds. With no pump spells or graveyard shenanigans he will likely just be a 1/1 haste. But this deck can capitalize on greater energy cards.

Really like this aggro deck. It really seems like it's low on black mana. Any less than 10 you'll find yourself hard pressed. Particularly after a mulligan or two.

Aether Hub, another Ruins or that new artifact brass city land will improve percentages nicely. Without playing a huge impact on the speed.

Everything above is experienced suggestions from BlaineTog. Geier Reach Sanitarium is usually ran as 1x of. Important card for gas and madness. And works extremely well with Fiery Temper. Abbey is likely not what this is trying to accomplish end game. Good job. +1

January 20, 2017 6:49 p.m.

Yeah I think it is good on the +1 defense now that you put into perspective.

I was first thinking of Courier before Thraben. Not sure which one. Considered Thraben because of the consistent draw already in the deck. Not having to dump needed cards in hand with Courier.

Let me know how it goes. I think I'm might whip something like this.

Very well made idea and construction. I like everything here with all it's mechanics. 4x Herold seem a bit over the top though. Could see a couple stuck in your hand when opponent is taking over. Of course, plenty of value artifacts like Servo Schematic. Or the like

Looks like it needs more mana. Or the artifact to assist. I like Underhanded Designs but I think this deck can benefit with some quick unconditional spot removal. Fatal Push and/or Grasp of Darkness. Maybe even Murder depending on what your up against.

Feels like Bone Saw is going to pull its weight a little better than Heirloom with your mana count and curve.

Not certain about Thraben Inspector but it looks like it could be here. I can see this build really getting bogged down by mana flood when it does happen. And, of course, the artifact would be more guarantee for the rest of your synergy.

Looks like it does indeed need more quick removal and/or quicker creatures with ETB effects. Not sure if Walking Ballista benefits from Pan but it could be a good starting point.

Alright that's what I originally thought. Somehow I now question every true understanding I have for these God forsaken changes of rules. Ty for the link. Very appreciative.

Excellent article!

My 2 cents is every format knows exactly how much mana it needs except rookie standard.

Happy to hear Ballista does indeed come in with the additional counter. However, is there a source your getting your information from? Sorry, but I'm hearing this and that. Feel as if I need to call Wizards headquarters for this one, lol.

Does anyone know a 100% for certain if Walking Ballista comes in with an additional counter from the Snake? Different judges keep referring to different rules to prove two different points.

Cuz if it does it looks like a worthy SB consideration with the elves.

You seem to really not like that cat combo, friend. :P

But I do like Kev and the double strike dwarf here. Looks fun.

January 18, 2017 11:06 a.m.

I think Hope is a great option either way. Particularly SB. Somehow it looks like Skin Invasion is just about the same. Combats removal and works with Neonate and Courier.

Do like the changes btw. Not sure about 4x Aethersphere however. Looks like it's going to hurt Lupine. Eager to see how it plays out.

Outside of Wilds I don't see any realistic way of utilizing Renegade. Unless your simply attacking into other creatures hoping someone goes to the graveyard. Particularly when players know what's coming. Doesn't seem really all that hot from what I see. Of course, there's sac a clue then cast for . But it seems very slow on the curve for what it's trying to do. Avacyn's looks like it would have far more impact and well-round the deck when I had first looked at this.

It does look good in the SB, however. Could be a meta call, too, perhaps. Heroic also seems more suited for SB. Blossoming looks like it would have more flexibility and speed.

Always been a fan of b/g rock and like what you started. Particularly the sub-energy and counter theme. Not sure how I would make this but I'd have to at least put a couple Tireless Trackers in. Feels like Servant of the Conduit is somewhat out of place, but it does look good nonetheless.

Also I have a hard time anticipating how planeswalkers are going to played. Perhaps Murder MB and Path SB would be quicker.

January 16, 2017 6:18 p.m.

Oh no. Why must this be true? Just when I was brewing...

But at least he gets an extra counter with his ability.

InfuriatedBrute - also note 2-color decks not running more than 8 dual lands almost always have 25 lands and a colorless utility land like Abbey. Or they simply don't have extensive cards that require mana like this particular list. But this deck does look fun in any event.

May these draws be true.

January 14, 2017 11:40 p.m.

I can see why you might of thought of my comment as comparing your deck to a tier 1. I was merely mentioning it to compare mana bases. Running Gifted Aetherborn and heavy in the same deck is generally considered mana greedy. 22 lands, no card draw, no mana help in any way shape or form.

Again the mana base will succeed. But not to it's optimum. The comment was to suggest a better fun deck would indeed be better long run with a more consistent mana base. Or changing the mana of cards, which I'm certain is not your intention here.

InfuriatedBrute - Yes it is. To thorough search on mtg top 8. Or play for years to gain experience.
