Leyline's way too expensive and slow. It's easier to just pop a spell if they try to gain life. And Atarka's Command has too much utility for me to trade it down to an enchantment.
Game two I got him down to about four and he just countered everything while hitting me with a Snapcaster Mage and souls again. Can't win if I can't cast anything.

I can't Blood Moon, I have too many other colored spells for that. Vexing Devil and Browbeat, any card that gives my opponent the choice will always be a hard pass for me. I'm thinking about taking our the two Atarka's Command but I like having the life cancel ability. I took third last night in a local modern tournament and the only match I bombed hard against was blue/white control because I couldn't find any of my sideboard.

It's certainly an interesting deck. I don't play control so I'm not sure if I can offer much in the way of advice. It looks like your sideboard is all over the place, and your deck does heavily rely on Whir of Invention. But it is very interesting. +1

Modern burn. Looking to shake things up if anyone has any thoughts.

Mutavault is definitely a way to make ammo. I personally think it's too risky, especially since there will always be situations where I'd want all red mana sources vs a red and a colorless. If I'm tapped out spare a Mutavault and need to cast an instant off my turn I'm kinda screwed.
Bomat Courier is really, really interesting and I like it a lot, but I don't like needing to hold mana to use his ability to save my cards. Plus he could be topdecking responses away from me. It could be a replacement for Ichor Wellspring though. Although, once he starts collecting cards I can no longer use him for any kind of ammo. It's a question of possible card advantage over more immediate damage.

Reckless Abandon isn't modern legal.

You can try it that way if you want! Whatever works best! I've personally never had an issue with consistency with this deck. I've found the land base to be great, I actually just cut a land because I found I was getting flooded, and I've never had an issue with the sacs. The reason I only 3 of Kuldotha Rebirth is because I would run into instances of having that and no bombs for the final kill. If anything I should probably pull a Goblin Grenade for the final Shrapnel Blast since this is more artifact heavy than my casual build.

Kor Firewalker says you gain life whenever a red spell is played, Skullcrack says no life gain that turn. Would they still gain the life from the casting of the Skullcrack, and then cease to gain life for any red spells cast after it resolves?
