I'm still learning about the standard meta, but I wonder if Mind Rot is left out b/c it's not as strong as the others? ie. 3 CMC and opponent chooses? I think I'd be tempted to ditch Whispers of Emrakul and not worry about delirium. In some ways, I actually find value in seeing what an opponent chooses to discard (especially if it's in RL and they don't have a poker face). But maybe it messes with your ideal curve?
It also made me think a deck with some combo of this might be cool, but I've no idea atm what it would replace...
Also looked at these two .. tho don't think they quite beat out others you have

New to standard and learning the ropes. Would love some tips on making this deck stand up and last til it hits.

lots of nice stuff in that thread, and have been looking at a few of those mentioned. def love silverfur, and do ok with a Hanweir Garrison/Slip Through Space deck. Also was looking at a Otherworldly Outburst, Strength of Arms, Fumigate combo :) ... when I get a chance I'll dig deeper on the thread and post some something if I can add anything new.

oh yeah I hate it when it doesn't target :) do you see many ppl sideboard things that target flyers? safe from Fatal Push since cmc is 5

It's nice to get it out and start swinging, but the copy effect is more important to me a bit later.
What cards in the current rotation should I be looking out for early game that would take this out, so I have a sense of whether to hold back or not based on what my opponent is playing.

and good to know I have it right. At least in RL it'll be ok.

That's interesting. Does Xmage get it's rules code from the same place as Magic Duels?

Is it possible that copies are just being applied to other creatures and not targeting them? Is that an actual thing?

this makes me think I am right:
706.2. When copying an object, the copy acquires the copiable values of the original objects characteristics and, for an object on the stack, choices made when casting or activating it (mode, targets, the value of X, whether it was kicked, how it will affect multiple targets, and so on). The copiable values are the values derived from the text printed on the object (that text being name, mana cost, color indicator, card type, subtype, supertype, rules text, power, toughness, and/or loyalty), as modified by other copy effects, by its face-down status, and by as . . . enters the battlefield and as . . . is turned face up abilities that set power and toughness (and may also set additional characteristics). Other effects (including type-changing and text-changing effects), status, and counters are not copied.

I thought I knew how this would work but playing it on Xmage seems to not work. Bug or am I missing something?
Game is going well, I have on the board:
I expect that because three wolves have become the target of an instant spell that I will have 3 wolf tokens generated. But it doesn't happen.
The only thing I can think of is that maybe technically the copies aren't instants or sorceries? But they are just spells? That doesn't seem right though...
What am I missing here?

I started looking at some cards in more detail when I was thinking about this and what kind of tags could be used, and it really gets you looking at the art in a new way. So much going on in them, I've always been so focused on the card effects.

I could imagine there would be a lot of challenges to making a useful tool like this. Mostly I was curious whether someone had tried it or not as I'de love to see where they got with it. I figure if any community would have folks keen to do something like this it would be mtg. :)
Redace878 re: restrictions on terms or not. A frequent debate on many websites (I build them in the rl world :), and lots of good reasons for both.
I think if I were to do something like this from scratch I would use a freetagging tool with autocomplete. No set descriptions for the image, and as people type words they would see a list of others with similar spelling. To reduce the number of spelling errors etc.
If a site like that got going, would probly need some thinking on a good incentive for people to participate. Lots of ways to go about it, but I can't imagine it hasn't been attempted yet.

There are many, many ways to search for cards. ie.
But I wish there was one that had a field with a description of the images. I get that it would be very subjective and difficult to boot, but has anyone attempted this? Particularly useful when building thematic/tribal decks.
I'm imagining a crowd sourced type DB that might have a field for image descriptor tags. For example, Genesis might have: centaur, dragonfly, insect, forest, rebirth, green goo, calm
Wishful thinking maybe?
