Yorion, Sky Nomad companion in EDH?

Asked by SirGrodus 3 years ago

How do companions work in EDH? And, more specifically, how can you meet Yorion, Sky Nomad's deck restrictions in EDH if the deck has to have 100 cards exactly?

Companions work as normal in EDH. Your Commander counts as a card in your deck for the purposes of meeting a Companion's restriction. You can't meet Yoion's deck restrictions in EDH. You can still run it as a Commander instead.

Companions were not necessarily made for EDH. Yorion is impossible, and Lutri, the Spellchaser is way too easy and therefore banned. All the rest can be used under normal companion rules as long as you meet their requirements, though for some of them it can be harder to do since Commander decks have lots of unique cards that will all have to fit.
