To be more specific, Equipments don't have any ability to unequip inherent to them. The Equip ability only allows you to attach the equipment to a creature you control.
702.6a Equip is an activated ability of Equipment cards. "Equip (cost)" means "(Cost): Attach this permanent to target creature you control. Activate this ability only any time you could cast a sorcery."
If you were able to unattach it, there would be an ability printed on the card that would specifically say you can.

no you have to equip you equipment to another creature you control you cant just remove it
