"merkolk spells AND wizard spells"

Asked by genuine139 9 years ago

Stonybrook Banneret says that all merfolk spells and wizard spells cost one less mana to play. If a merfolk creature is a one drop, is it free? Is it one less of any mana color, or one less colorless mana? If I played a merfolk wizard creature does it then cost TWO less mana? Sorry so many questions lol

It is one less of colorless mana. The easiest way to remember that is look at the symbol that it says it is less. It is the colorless mana symbol.

Also from Gatherer: "A spell you cast that's both creature types costs 1 less to cast, not 2 less."

It does not effect colored mana, just the amount that you could play with any color. Also it will only reduce it by one, even if the spell is both types.

A spell you cast that's both creature types costs 1 less to cast, not 2 less.

If multiple Stonybrook Banneret are on the field, their ability compounds, yes?
