Does Ashling, the Extinguisher's ability target?

Miss Ashling, the Extinguisher.. I've been wondering for a while. Her ability doesn't explicitly say something like, "Destroy target creature". It includes the word 'choose'.
That being said, could Ashling's ability hit creatures with Hexproof/Shroud? (My gut says 'no', even though I want it to be 'yes')

If you read Ashling, the Extinguisher closely you'll see the phrase "choose target creature", so yes Ashling does target so she cannot hit creatures that cannot be targeted for some reason (e.g. Hexproof, Shroud, Protection, etc.)
