Can I pay convoke cost using creatures that's blocking another creature?

I'm blocking a Juggernaut using a 1/1 green Saproling token. Before the damage step, can I tapped the saproling to cast Gather Courage on the saproling and still blocking?

Yes you may. Your creature only need to be untapped when being declared as a blocker. Tapping the creature after you've declared blockers won't affect anything.

Tapping and untapping a blocker or attacker after it has been declared as such does not change the fact that the creature is attacking or blocking. Convoke will not interfere with the block.
