Playtester Update: Card Sizes, Stats, & Redesigned Logger

TappedOut forum

I just deployed an update to the tappedout.net playtester that includes a fewnew features.

  1. Three card sizes are available under 'Settings'. The small setting worksgreat for smaller screens (like the iPad), and it's automatically detected if the browserwindow's height is short.
  2. Stats
Track the performance of your deck while playtesting. Watch for a steadyincrease in lands on the battlefield. For a token based deck, the creaturemetric and power will be very useful to quickly add up damage.
  1. Redesigned Logger

The log is docked in the menu instead of sitting in the battlefield. Actionsare grouped by turn. Finally, click a card name to open card in the popup.

Other Notes:

Google Chrome is still a little buggy with 3D CSS Transforms, so this settingisn't enabled by default for that browser. Google Chrome users: if cards aren'tdisplaying properly, click 'Settings' > click 'Restore Default', or just clearyour cache.

I've also made a few minor changes to reduce the visual complexity of theplaytester. The 'View' zone link selector has been consolidated into the nameof the zone. The 'View' deck menu link has been consolidated into the deck name.

What's next:

Stats are great, but you really need to be able to compare the performance ofthe current session with a historical average so you can determine if the deckis performaing above or below average. The stats are a new feature, so I amlooking forward to hearing your feedback.

So how long before we will be able to replay old playtests... which would lead to playing online against other players (even if their board is on another tab or screen)?

We won't include a feature to play against other user because that would incur a lawsuit from WotC.

However, the new playtester is quite nice. I like the log not eating half my field space anymore.

I'm seeing nothing but mirrored Magic backs now when I go to playtest. Is there some sort of bug that hasn't been mentioned or some kind of setting I need to adjust?
