Playtest request

I'd love the option to playtest a deck against one of my own.

I'm not sure how difficult this would be to do in terms of programming, but I was hoping there would be enough mutual interest to at least look into it. Thanks!

Make two tabs. Have 1 deck on one tab the other deck on the other tab.

This option is sort of available already. There is a playtest button on each deck that allows you to fishbowl your deck (play without an opponent). If you playtest two decks in different windows, you can pilot them against each other, which allows for limited playtesting

There is currently no option to play against other players, but not only would the coding be a challenge, it would put the site in competition with MTGO, which could be dangerous.

Thanks for the replies! I'm a little embarrassed that I didn't think of these alternatives.

I just playtest my physical decks against ones on here. Just move some stuff around, play your cards on your desk, and play the second deck at the same time.

On Cockatrice, you can play against yourself pretty effectively once you memorize some keyboard shortcuts.

  • CTRL + M = Draw opening hand or Mulligan
  • CTRL + W = Look at the top X cards of your library. (to scry, perhaps)
  • CTRL + A = Attach one permanent to another. (Banisher Priest, perhaps)
  • CTRL + D = Draw a card

There are obviously several others, but those are pretty much the main ones to use.
