A way to agree/like comments

TappedOut forum

I just think there should be a way to agree with ppl's comments outside of, "i agree with what namehere said" under their comment. I think it would make things easier.

I agree with this one hundred percent. While it may seem like it is encroaching onto the domain of something like Facebook I think it would help to streamline the forums immensely.

I don't really know that it's necessary though. If you agree with someone's comment but have nothing to add yourself then you aren't compelled to post just for the sake of saying "User X is right" or "I agree with user Y."

I suppose it might be nice to vote on helpful comments so the OPs can see what's most helpful but at the same time he or she will probably read through and decide for himself or herself what's useful and what's average or unhelpful.

The way I see it isn't required or anything like that, but, I still see it as something that would make the forums more accessible and easier to read through.

Essentially, I think that it would help cut down on the extra posts that consist of nothing more than "User X is right" which frequently just chunk up forum posts. People would clearly still have that option but it would help up the readability and let those reading through get to the pertinent information quicker and more simply.

As I said, I don't think it is a requirement to have a successful forum, but, ease of use and accessibility do help keep people coming back and using the features there more frequently.

I can see it being useful in the q&a forum. Occasionally there be a question with one responce thats been there for awhile. Maybe the person is waiting for more replies or for other opinions on the ruling, but there can only be one correct answer so just hit the "agree button" and then the person can see everyone agrees with this answer it must be right.

Fair. I generally select an answer for OP once a question has been in the queue for a day or more.

I don't think the system would hurt. The only real downside is that it has to be added first.

That is quite true. If it doesn't happen because people are too busy to add another tool of convenience to a site with an already healthy compliment of them then that is wholly understandable.
