Sam Stoddard, a developer for Magic, posted this article today where he talks about how development feels about Tarkir block as it regards to the Limited play, Standard, and older formats. I think it is a fantastic read and recommend everyone to read it.

Interesting read. It seems like it was a pretty though-out block, though I really can't see how they didn't think some cards would alter the line of play in eternal formats (looking at you Cruise). The midrange-heavy was also something that I personally don't approve of because it just made a growing pod deck better and made it so that they had to ban an entire archetype. Still, a fun read.

I agree that KTK KTK KTK draft was awesome. I actually preferred KTK KTK FRF over DTK DTK FRF though and most people I have asked feel the same way. Some people do think the games of KTK KTK FRF were to dependent on the bombs and what you opened compared to the other two though.

Personally I think the block was a huge success.

I think KTK KTK KTK was ages better than DTK DTK FRF.

Triple Khans was definitely the best in the block.
