Cleaned Playmat- Looks Great

I've read over a few posts in the past about how to clean playmats. Many a suggestion made but not much in the way of final outcome.

I just recently cleaned a 5 year old playmat and it came out great! As many have said, plain old soap and water did the trick. I ran the water in the bathtub till it was warm (not hot), then tossed in the mat (just enough water to cover it). I then added a BUNCH of blue dawn. I figured if it's good enough to clean an oil soaked duck, it's good enough for my playmat. I scrubbed it a lot with the rough side of a dish sponge. (not quite as rough as one of those green ones, but course enough to do some work). After lots of scrubbing and an overnight dry, it really looks A LOT better. Near new I'd say. The bright colors are popping once again.

Kind of a random post, but I thought it would be helpful in the future for those searching out ways to clean mats.

Sounds great! I just did my dishes, but i used the machine. It now feels like cheating. Tomorrow I will bring out the good old duster and go to town on the apartment, thanks for the inspo :)

Most mats are machine washable, i washed a pharika mat in the washing machine (this thing was in bad shape) stuff stuck to it, it smelled horrible, the whole nine. After i washed it, it was like brand new!
