Confused with "Sync with Inventory"-function

Hey All, I am new to this site and wanted to add my collection and decks. But now I am a bit confused with the "Sync with Inventory" function.
Do I still need to add them to my Inventory and just create my decklist, check the "Sync" button and it will mark the related cards in my Inventory as synced? Or do I don't add them to the inventory at all and just create the decklist, check "sync" and it will add the related cards to my inventory?
I tried to figure it out the last couple of hours but I don't understand it. Especially because the update doesn't seem to be quick which is confusing me even more.
I would appreciate any help explaining the "sync" function and how to properly use it.

I still quite figured it out, so I'm still open for advices or help to understand it together :)

Try asking this question in the TappedOut forum under Site Discussions, instead of Deck Help. You might get a better response there.

I'd like to help, but I haven't actually used that feature. I didn't want to respond before someone else was able to give better advice, but it's been a couple of days now.
