ok so i found out my ideas sucked , got a notebook , chillaxed , made some cards . tested the mechanics . and came up with some amazing lore.now . this is the cinematic : they came , and sickened my world . infected my species . they made all of us one . few of us now exist. koth has fallen . elsepth has fled . venser and karn are lost . koth's brother klithe , and the dark father of machines have to save the world . we will prevail . &(&&)(((_(&&*

so how do you guys feel about the set's lore before i move to the top mechanics ?

Maybe. I would spend more time on what the Phyrexian world looks like (althoglugh NPH fleshed that out pretty well) and what the plot is going to be. You have several characters, so that's good.

You know what happens when you design lore before mechanics? Homelands, that's what. If you like to about set, first think mechanics. Gameplay always first and foremost. You have to make sure mechanics fit the game. Then you design a world around that idea. Zendikar is pretty much the perfect example. Started off as the land set. No idea what in specific, but it was to make lands feel good to play. Man, did they knock that out of the park...

You have a poorly written semi paragraph. That isnt really lore. It is just a paragraph.

Personally I would rather see the mechanics and how the set builds on that. For example, if Phyrexia is all about infect and you gave the resistance a fateful hour style effect with poison counters you could use this to show their desperation. If you then gave the resistance an effect that gains them poison counters to make a spell stronger you could use that to show how they are becoming what they hate to fight the phyrexians.

The red phyrexians are also sheltering the resistance too do it would be cool flavor wise to reflect that

so leaplaths words exactly . the mirrans use last stand x . if you control no other creatures as it enters the battlefield , it enters the battlefield with that many +1/+1 counters . there is also cards like last stand : draw 2 cards.phyrexians still use infect . this set is about more than black and white . its gray vs bleach . for the land cycle , im looking at the dreaded urza lands , but then agaiin , there are reasons they are banned in legacy .
