Non-American Users: How Major of a Holiday is Halloween in Your Country?

In the United States, Halloween is a major holiday; obviously, it is not nearly as major as Easter, Independence Day, Thanksgiving, or Christmas, but many people celebrate it enthusiastically every year.

However, I have heard that many non-Americans are surprised at how Americans hold Halloween in high regard, so I wish to ask: how major of a holiday is Halloween in countries other than the United States? What does everyone else say about this?

Philippines representative here XD :

Barely. We have an obsession with Christmas here. around October (even September in home households) people already put up Christmas decor. Mid October youl hear Christmas jingles in malls.

Any other holiday kinda gets boxed out. Though due to people just LOVING competitions prettymuch every city or even tiny village tends to hold its own Halloween costume competition. But thats about it.

the only other halloween esque thhing is all souls day on november 1st where people go to cemeteries to respect the dead. No costumes stuff though, its mostly just food and gatherings.

Hello from Ukraine! We don't celebrate Helloween as a holiday. It's just an occasion for shopping malls to propose some special offers and for night clubs to make some events :)

DRmagic2017: is there a reason you spelled "Halloween" the way you did? im genuinely curious if it was just a typo, or if you're trying to say Halloween is evil.

PitaGryphon of course no :)) I was typing from my phone, so I don't know why it happened. Maybe I was searching for power metal band 'Helloween' before, I don't know. As for me Halloween is just a modern reincarnation of Samhain. It's not a part of our tradition so I feel neutral about it.
