This year marks the 30th anniversary of Appetite for Destruction, the debut album of the hard rock band Guns n Roses, who would become a very major and influential presence in the world of rock and roll during the late 1980s and early 1990s. Following in the hard rock footsteps of bands such as Aerosmith and Van Halen, the album was an immediate bestseller and is still regarded by many critics and music historians as one of the best debut albums in music history for the talent of its musicians and its poignant lyrics delivered by Axl Roses multi-octave voice. The album captured the spirit of the 1980s and was a perfect portrayal of the excesses and social tension of that decade.

The album remains one of GNRs best-known and bestselling albums, with nearly half of its songs being released as singles that are still frequently played on various radio stations and used in movies. The band followed the album with three more albums that were nearly or equally as successful as was their debut, but, after that, the band began to fracture from within as tensions arose between its members, resulting in ever member except for Axl Rose leaving the band and their next album being delayed for a whole fifteen years.

However, the situation recently has improved for the band, since Axl Rose and Slash, whom many fans thought would never reconcile, have put aside their differences and finally ended their legendary feud, resulting in three of the bands original members reuniting, and the possibility of a new album arising.

What does everyone else have to say about this? How do you feel about Guns n Roses debut album celebrating its 30th anniversary?
