WE ARE BACK! MARDU PYROMANCER FOR LIFE!!! —Oct. 8, 2019
Mardu Pyromancer is freaking back! I am grateful for all those who have supported the efforts that have gone into making this primer. I want to keep updating (changes, recent matches, and new techs on the horizon) as much as I can, more so than before.
With Looting out the window, we had to overhaul the list and I think (with the help of you guys and the Mardu group on Facebook) we have come to a good ratio on the build. This has evolved from Midrange to Midrange/Control, with plenty of options to put up a fight against almost every Modern deck, minus Big Mana which can, literally kiss my...
Anyways! We added Smiting Helix, Ransack the Lab, and Seasoned Pyromancer in the main and Kaya's Guile and Plague Engineer in the side to give the deck new life. I have been extremely happy playing the deck and it feels really REALLY good to pilot.

Aaaaaaaahhhhh bloody colorful euphemism Wizards. Well, dunno if this type of deck is still gonna be viable. The one good thing is all the new releases I bought are useful elsewhere. Also this is gonna hurt vampires who lean more heavily into madness. Yeah it makes sense as a ban but wow.... yes it's a way to hurt Hogak and Phoenix both at once but why can we not just ban Hogak directly and be done with it? Looting has become stupidly good, admittedly.
Edit: looked at the list. They actually did ban that mistake of a card. Much respect, WotC. Stoneforge being back fascinates me. I do own a single Stoneforge because I play Edgar Markov in EDH.
