Match 2 (vs. Landot) [2-0] —Aug. 15, 2013

Oh hey, probably should have put this up much sooner than now - my bad.

Anyways, facing Landot tonight around 6-7pm (KC's anticipating a delay on his end, and I'm cool with waiting if Landot is).

@kanofudo - I assure you, it's quite optional.

Now, the group leaders are coming to a consensus on how we want to handle teams watching other's matches.

I'm one of the supporters for team leaders keeping themselves in the dark to maintain that "surprise" element, however, I'm not against you guys giving the others a watch when their time comes. Just don't spoil my fun (unless the rare event happens in which everyone's allowed to watch everyone - then I'd want to keep the playing field level).

Will let you know what the official verdict is.

Team Gureiskull won't be the only ones sad - Got a couple friends elsewhere rooting for me, too.

Always considered the drafting portion my weakest aspect of Limited, and rarely chastise my ability to make plays based on what I get. Course, now that I've said that, Mr. Murphy's going to make me need a punt counter. :p

Sounds ominous. Fortunately I'm good at forcing my own ignorance.

So, 1-2 with an admirable game 3. Glad this can at least hold it's own.

Did pretty well for having flood/screw for 2 of the games.

Won the game that screw didn't happen. Hopefully our deck will be nicer next time and actually give us a decent curve.

(And apparently KrazyCaley brainfarted about when the abomination was summoned as he was wondering on his stream why you weren't attacking with it on the turn it was summoned :P)

The only 2 misplays that are worth mentioning is not cracking the cluestone game 1 like I mentioned before, and I was really not a fan of your renounce the guilds timing game 3. Renounce is much better when he's swinging into you with 2-3 cyclops thinking he has game and you kill 1/2 - 1/3rd of his offensive power. I mean it's an instant speed removal for 2. No one really expects it in 3x DMG.

In retrospect I'm not entirely convinced that keeping the game 3 hand was the right call. And yeah, I probably could have held off on Renounce until at least his next attack phase - See if I couldn't sacrifice Kraul's damage to milk out a 2-for-1 "pump" spell.

Did you catch the moment in one of the later games where I realized that I'd forgotten Cluestones could be popped?

August 9, 2013 7:38 a.m.

Supersun says... #15

lol yeah, I heard that comment about the cluestones.

While hindsight in game 3 says otherwise, I thought your mulligan choices were correct. I can't say that the odds of getting 3+ land in a hand of 6 is that great, and for a 2 land hand you at least had cards to play with. It's just unfortunate that luck wasn't nice to you today and didn't draw you into the land you needed.
