Deck Overhaul —Jan. 21, 2020

So some cards have been cut. +2 City of Brass +2 Pact of Negation +2 Spoils of the Vault +1 Thassa's Oracle

-1Temple of Deceit -1 Blast Zone -2 Silence -1 Jace, Wielder of Mysteries -2 Wishclaw Talisman

so in preparation for the new win condition, Jace and the talisman had to come out, to make way for a potential 4 mana combo with the new Oracle. The mana base has been tweaked mainly to accommodate the 3 copies of Veil of Summer in the sideboard, but also because Blast Zone is slow, and having one less scryland isn't going to hurt the deck.

How does this fair against the "normal" meta?? I love to play those effects in commander but in modern I never ventured out of UW control.. if this has a shot a bringing some games home, I'm in!

TolarianScientist, I think the deck is now slightly more viable than it was previously. Especially since the Oko, Mycosynth and Mox Opal bannings. It makes linear decks like burn better as a result, which is a very good matchup for the deck. Death's Shadow and Jund will also become more popular unfortunately, but I think having Veil of Summer in the sideboard definitely helps us.

Oloro_Magic Yeah... Silence is relatively mediocre. I've updated the list now, and found that Veil of Summer does everything I wanted Silence to do. Also, I think Wishclaw is just a little too slow. The times I tried and tested with it, it certainly made assembling the combo more consistent, but it was equally just as easy to disrupt or allow your opponents to find the perfect answer.
