I don't have any winning-related issues with Coalition Victory; I just don't like how WotC has embraced five-color goodstuff, which I view as unhealthy for the format. I would say it would be better as an enchantment with "at the beginning of your upkeep, if you control creatures of all five colors and all five basic land types, you win the game" but it's more part of the trend for five-color goodstuff, something WotC has had a habit of encouraging with easy-to-cast five-color legends in the past.

So, I'm having trouble building a new deck. There are red card names. The cards are 1) legal, and 2) part of my Commander's color identity. What does it mean?

#1Tombstone Stairwell can be fun. Everyone likes extra tokens. You can use entry and death triggers (Think Blood Artist and Suture Priest.) to break the symmetry. But it has cumulative upkeep, so it won't be on the board for long.
Monkey Cage is just fun. It's really great with Living Death or Rise of the Dark Realms since the Cage is worded such that it sees all the creatures enter and triggers to all of them (meaning if a creature which costs , a creature which costs , and a creature which costs enter at the same time, you get six tokens.), but even Smile at Death or Victimize nets you two creatures (and tokens equal to their total mana value). Plus, it's a fun creature type with a little bit of unpredictability.
