Hey, thanks for taking the time to upvote the deck!
I've had Incubation / Incongruity as a possible card for that purpose but Merfolk have so many synergies and ways to 'cantrip,' that it seems a bit redundant in Merfolk. I'll have to get some more reps in with the deck before a real solid opinion on it, but cards like Silvergill Adept replace themselves and are a staple. Blue / Green Counters Specifically Excel by cards like Deeproot Elite and Kumena, Tyrant of Orazca turn Benthic Biomancer into a loot engine. And the heavy Explore package in general filters quite a bit in its own right.
I'll throw a couple or similar cards in the sideboard to try sometime, thanks!
