Would a Looming Spires trigger a prowess ability?

I am building a deck around creatures with prowess and thought about adding 4 Looming Spires. Would it trigger prowess though?

Prowess triggers when you cast a noncreature spell.

Abilities are not spells, and lands are never cast. Lands can't ever trigger prowess.
