When does damage "heal" on creatures?
Asked by kanofudo 11 years ago
When do creatures no longer have damage marked on them? Does that happen at the end of combat? Or the end step?
Ex: I attack my opponent and he blocks with a Deadbridge Goliath , 2nd main phase can i Mizzium Mortars to kill it? or has it healed from combat?

The End phase has 2 steps: end and cleanup. Damage wears off during the cleanup step, the very last step of the turn. The play you talk about in your question will kill Deadbridge Goliath just fine, because the damage it took in combat will still be marked on it.

It's worth noting also that if anything triggers during the cleanup step that a player could respond to, the cleanup step repeats afterwards.

Damage is marked until the Cleanup Step which is the final step. You can use Mizzium Mortars to kill your opponents Deadbridge Goliath only as long as it was dealt at least 1 damage during combat and it had 5 toughness than as well.
