What is the difference between Time Spiral and Timeshift?

Timeshifted cards are older cards which were printed in the Time Spiral set using the "special" rarity. They are Modern-legal, despite not having the modern background.

Yeah, the Time Spiral set's whole theme was the past coming into the present time, so to sort of bring that out, they did a special run of throwback cards from the past. Most of them were chosen because they were somehow famous or iconic (though not all). They all kept their older style border, though they did update the rules text on the cards to match then-current templating.
