Vigilance and vehicle help

With Aerial Responder having vigilance does he tap to crew a vehicle?

Vigilance just means that you don't tap the creature to declare it as an attacker. You still have to tap it to pay for a cost that requires it to tap.
Remember that when you crew a vehicle, the creatures you're tapping aren't attacking. They're tapped to pay for the crew cost so that you can attack with the vehicle.

Vigilance's only function is to allow a creature not to tap when it's declared as an attacker.
If the creature taps or becomes tapped for any other reason, vigilance will not stop that.
Crewing a vehicle requires you to tap the creature, so that is what you'll do.
