Two Headed Giant Exaulted
Asked by killkong1211 12 years ago
I was playing an imformal game of THG with some friends at uni just before, and my deck being exaulted the question naturally arose, "Does the exalted count for just me, or both of us?".Probably pretty simple question, I just want this cleared up (Y)
NDRue says... Accepted answer #1
Briefly: The exalted counts only for you.
From the Comprehensive Rules:
702.80. Exalted
702.80a Exalted is a triggered ability. "Exalted" means "Whenever a creature you control attacks alone, that creature gets +1/+1 until end of turn."
702.80b A creature "attacks alone" if it's the only creature declared as an attacker in a given combat phase. See rule 506.5
In the THG variant, two players act as a team, and exalted triggers only if one creature is declared as an attacker from the team, ie. either only you or your partner declares one creature to attack, you can't have both players declare one attacking creature each - exalted will not trigger in this case.
When the creature attacks alone, only the player controlling the attacking creature will have his/her exalted abilities trigger, ie. only your exalted will trigger, not your partner's.
