go to starcitygames.com to find prices on every card and see to find an equal value. my friend has a paper with "I owe nick $10 in cards for the skitharix and molten tail" then i crossed out the 10 for a 7 cuz i found a 3 dollar card i wanted.
if not trading with a friend find an equal value, no internet? find another time wen there will be internet. and always be friendly, dont make the other force look for a card cuz u wanted the equal value raised 2 bucks for another card. like its a $20 of yourstuff and $19.75 of his, and you find a $2 card and he now needs to find one from you to make it equal again, thus taking time from both of you.
