side board in drafts.
Asked by miel94 12 years ago
Hi guys, next weekend i'm gonne do my first tournement. Its a draft out of 6 boosters and u need to make a 40 card deck with it.
First I was wondering, is ur sideboard size limited to 10 than? Since ur deck is only 40 cards.
Second: can u change between difrent games? For example I lose with 1 deck my first game, can I play the next game (against another opponent) with a complete other deck?
Third, we are gonne recieve a promotion tournemant card, can we put these in our draft deck or do we just recieve it at the end of the tournement?
Thx in advance :)

that format is called "sealed"
and yes, the cards you can play are EVERY card you pull. as long as your deck has at least 40 cards. you can swap decks if you like, but it's not likely that you'll have two viable decks.
You receive the promo card during the event, and USUALLY you cannot use them. however for the Return to Ravnica prerelease that is coming up, you may.

sorry i should have specified, your sideboard consists of every card you opened.

Please take note that if your event requires registration of deck, you are not allowed to swap contents of your deck and sideboard between matches (opponents), and only between games with the same opponent after the first game has concluded.
For any other in-house rules or situations, it would be best to consult with the organizer or any judges at the venue.

Usually the sideboard in limited is made up of all you excess cards from your draft/sealed pool. And as for making a new deck, that is something u need to ask your local game store.
