Shroud and Myr Galvanizer
Asked by PoorFredNoonan 13 years ago
If I have a Indomitable Archangel out and it has metal craft. Will I still be able to use the abilities of Myr Galvanizer on my myrs? Or is shroud covering them?
Shroud prevents whatever has shroud from being a target of spells or abilities. Spells and abilities don't target unless they specifically have the word "target" in their rules text. Since Myr Galvanizer's ability affects "each other Myr you control", it will ignore Shroud and untap all your Myr.

An additional, important rules quote backing up Siegfried's post:
114.9a Just because an object or player is being affected by a spell or ability doesnt make that object or player a target of that spell or ability. Unless that object or player is identified by the word "target" in the text of that spell or ability, or the rule for that keyword ability, its not a target.

the myr does not target anything

702.17a Shroud is a static ability. "Shroud" means "This permanent or player can't be the target of spells or abilities."
Seeing as the Myr Galvanizer is not targeting any of your Myr's, then yes you will be able to use it's ability on your other Myr's even with them having shroud.
