Shifting Sky
Asked by GLBoxingGlove 13 years ago
Shifting Sky is in play and then someone plays another one, selecting a different color.
I'd say the newer one's choice takes effect. (just want to make sure)
Is this a permanent effect or just until Shifting Sky is removed from the field?
If not permanent, the 1st one should resume its color choice if the new one is destroyed/bounced.

The most recent Shifting Sky is obeyed, same as card:Painter's Servant.

False. card:Painter's Servant specifies that all cards are the chosen color in addition to their other colors. That means all Servants apply, and the effects stack.

Since Shifting Sky doesn't say "in addition to its other colors", the most recent Shifting Sky takes precedence.
Unless specifically stated otherwise, abilities of permanents only function when that card is on the battlefield. Once a Shifting Sky goes to the graveyard, its effect no longer applies.
If one Shifting Sky is removed, then the most recent Shifting Sky will resume precedence.
