Yes. The cost of activating Shadowborn Apostle 's ability is "B, sacrifice six creatures named Shadowborn Apostle". In order to activate the ability, you have to pay the cost in full, which means you have to have six Shadowborn Apostle on the battlefield to sacrifice.

Yes. You need to sacrifice six to use the ability. You can play any number of them in a deck though, so it's fine.

You can play a Shadowborn Apostle by paying its mana cost. You have to pay the mana cost each Shadowborn Apostle so you can have 6 of them.

Pay the one B and sacrifice all 6 of them to activate the ability.

So you only need 1 on the battlefield and sacrifice 6 anywhere else?

No. In order to sacrifice something, it has to be on the battlefield. You have to cast all 6 Shadowborn Apostle separately, then activate the ability of one of the Apostles and sacrifice 6 (that can include the one whose ability you're activating).

Shadowborn apostle has an ability that is relevant during deck construction: you can put more than 4 of him in a deck.

If you manage to get 6 Apostles into play, then you can activate the ability on one of them by sacrificing those 6 Apostle's and paying a black mana.

If you have some way of putting the Apostles into play without casting them that is okay too.
