panoptic mirror and epic abilities
Asked by somensjev 11 years ago
if you used Panoptic Mirror and imprinted Neverending Torment and then played three copies, on the beginning of your next of your upkeep would you search an opponent's library for 4X cards where X is the number of cards in your hand? could you search two opponents libraries for 2X cards each? or even 4 opponents for X each?
i'm just making sure i understand this right
does panoptic mirror cast? it only says you make a copy, and you may play the copy?

"Play" is the old way of saying "cast" (regarding nonland cards).
The Oracle text for Panoptic Mirror reads as follows:
At the beginning of your upkeep, you may copy a card exiled with Panoptic Mirror. If you do, you may cast the copy without paying its mana cost.

If you somehow manage to have multiple epic spells resolve, they will each trigger separately. However Panoptic Mirror would not make this possible because it only triggers once on each of your upkeeps and the copy it makes gets cast. Once an epic spell has resolved, Panoptic Mirror won't be able to cause additional copies to be cast.
If you somehow had resolved four copies of Neverending Torment, each could target a different person because they are separate spells on the stack.
