Multiple Mogg Bombers entering play trigger each other?

Asked by UniqueUserID 11 years ago

1) What happens when multiple Mogg Bombers enter the battlefield? Like say through Synod Sanctum ?

2) What happens when 3 Mogg Bombers are returned from a Synod Sanctum ?

3) Thanks!

From Mogg Bombers 's Gatherer entry:

"The Mogg Bombers do trigger on any creatures that enter the battlefield at the same time they do."

"If multiple creatures enter the battlefield at the same time, the ability triggers once for each of them. You may choose a different target player for each time it triggers."

So if 3 Mogg Bombers enter at the same time, each bomber will see 2 other creatures entering play. You'll have 6 instances of Mogg Bombers 's triggered ability, to deal 18 damage to a player (assuming you wanted it on just one player, you don't have to).

Interesting. What happens if my opponents summons a creature and in reaction I sacrifice my Synod Sanctum . Is their summoned creature included to the damage total?

And if so, what happens if in reaction to the opponents summon, I exile one of my own creatures, then sac the Synod Sanctum ? Does it now do 3 more for each bomber?

+Thanks Sword.

Also, relevant part of the rulings:

The damage is dealt whether or not you sacrifice the Mogg Bombers. For instance, if Mogg Bombers is destroyed or sacrificed in between the time when the ability triggers and when it resolves, then the targeted player will still be dealt 3 damage.

If your opponent casts a creature and you respond by sacrificing Synod Sanctum while that creature spell is on the stack, your Mogg Bombers will trigger when the Sanctum resolves and their abilities will be put onto the stack above the creature spell. Then they will all resolve and only after that, the creature will enter the battlefield.

@ Absinthman

Whoa, so what happens normally if the opponents just summons a creature and I try to exile my own Mogg Bombers with the Synod Sanctum ? Is there any way to save the Bomber and pull of it's effect?

I'm guessing no. But stacks are crazy things.

Your Bomber's ability won't trigger unless the creature actually enters the battlefield. When your opponent casts a creature spell, it goes to the stack first to resolve. Before it enters the battlefield, you may activate your Synod Sanctum to save the Bomber. The Sanctum's ability will resolve first, since it's the topmost object on the stack, then the opponent's creature will resolve and enter the battlefield.

"Before it enters the battlefield, you may activate...." Should instead say "Before it resolves, you may activate...", sorry.

It sounds like you may need to read up a bit on some of the newer rules for the Stack and Priority, etc.

I may have misunderstood your previous question. Now it seems you're trying to do this:

1. Your opponent's creature enters the battlefield.
2. Your Mogg Bombers triggers and wants you to sacrifice it and deal damage.
3. You respond to the trigger by exiling it with Synod Sanctum .
4. Your Mogg Bombers 's ability resolves. you don't sacrifice it because it's already in exile, and it deals damage.

You can do the above, if that was what you were asking about. It is perfectly legal.

What Absinthman says is also a legal line of play, and gets a lot more value out of the Mogg Bombers .

Is there anyway to give more than one correct answer? In any case, many thanks to both of you!
