Monstrosity

Would you be able to be for monstrosity more than once to get extra counters. I understand the ability wouldn't trigger since the monster is already monstrous. But could you still get extra counters?

No. You can pay the Monstrosity cost more than once, but once the ability starts to resolve, it will see that the creature is already Monstrous and the ability will fizzle, counters and all.

You could have found the answer just by looking at a monstrosity card: Nessian Asp .

From the reminder text:

If this creature isn't monstrous, put four +1/+1 counters on it and it becomes monstrous.

So while you can activate the ability, it won't do anything if it's already monstrous.

@GoldGhost012: Technically, spells and abilities only fizzle if they have targets, but all those targets are illegal when the spell or ability would resolve. In this case, the monstrosity ability will resolve, but it won't do anything because the creature is already monstrous.
