Mighty Leap in Attack Phase

Asked by JamesKrell 13 years ago

I declare attackers, then my opponent declares blockers. If I use Mighty LeapMTG Card: Mighty Leap at that moment, does the attack go through (if the blocking creature doesn't have flying)? Or will it be declared "Blocked"?

Once it's declared as blocked, giving it an evasion ability doesn't matter, it stays blocked. Same as if you destroyed the blocker, your creature doesn't get through.

No. If blockers have been declared already then your creature is blocked. Giving it flying now would do nothing to the block.

It is declared blocked. Declaration of attackers and declaration of blockers does not use the stack. You have to use Mighty LeapMTG Card: Mighty Leap before declaration of blockers.

What happens in this situation is your creature has trample?

If the creature has trample, nothing different happens. His creature is still blocked, and anything over the blocking creature's toughness can be assigned to the defending player
